Geohealth and Hydrology Research Lab
The Geohealth and Hydrology Research Lab (GEOHLAB) research regarding the influence of hydroclimatological and environmental processes on abundance and presence of infectious pathogens and resulting outbreaks under theEngineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment. I have been involved with the lab since Spring 2024, working alongside the PI, Dr. Antarpreet Jutla, PhD, and various graduate students to assist in their research efforts.
Research Focus
Currently, I am working to better understand the occurrence of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs), the factors we can use to predict them (chlorophyll-a and reflectance), and the quality of satellite data regarding them. My focus is on HABs that occurred in the summer of 2024 with the use of remote sensing data. Additionally, I have helped to coordinate collaboration efforts for the development of a cholera-risk tracking mobile app.
